This 1728 sculpture of the god Máni is found in Wick's Quarter of the Stowe Landscape Gardens in Buckinghamshire, England. Flemish sculptor John Michael Rysbrack's sculptures in this area honored the Germanic deities who gave their names to the days of the week - thus Wick's (Week's) Quarter.

Máni is the god of the moon, who governs the journeying of the moon and decides the time of its waxing and waning. In this depiction, the god is shown wearing a strange hood with the ears of a wolf, perhaps related to the wolf Hati (Hate) Hróðvitnisson. Hati was also called Mánagarm (Moon's Dog) and pursues Máni on his rounds through the sky. When Hati draws close in his pursuit of the moon, lunar eclipses are the result.
